Offering up multiple solutions for customers has been a key factor in our success so far. It’s vital that customers know they have a choice and that we’re keen to tailor their access control to their specific needs.
On this particular occasion, we gave the client the option for their short term rental, in London.
After presenting the options to them, their decision became clear that KS – the cloud based platform. Due to the way in which the building operates, and without any permanent management team on site, the ability to carry out changes to their system instantaneously from anywhere in the world. Given that the buildings Director tends to be on the move a lot, visiting properties globally, this was a real game changer.
The doors originally had standard ERA Deadbolts installed, with a Rim cylinder securing the door up top, so there was a realtively large amount of work to carry out on the doors, ensuring that our carpentry team mortised out the doors ready to accommodate the new DIN standard mortise lock.
T he client also opted to order the brand new XS4 One S Keypad model, utilising a touch activated, BLE Keypad. We also encountered some issues with the door shuts, which at 30mm were extreme, cuasing fitment issues with the wider Keypad model. This was overcome by planing out a small recess in the door shut, which was sanded, smoothed and painted thereafter.
Utilising just two IQs, with PoE; we were able to keep the costs down using our extensive design knowledge to ensure that we could place minimal amounts of IQs in the building without the customer needing more than necessary.
We offered up placement that covered 3No. Handle sets, across two floors, as well as a single IQ placed next to the main door, to enable us to install a keypad wall reader, mag-lock as well as the accompanying Request to exit and Break-glass.
The final product was a solution that the customer was ecstatic with. Nothing overly expensive, but enough to provide an extremely high quality system for end-users to enjoy, and a state-of-the-art software for the client to manage their system from.
